Hipster

Hippie girl, going through recovery, and life. Follow my journey of Spiritual growth and health.

This week is a big family week, with a daughters birthday celebration and babysitting of a grandchild, so the whole physio routine is thrown out a bit. Plus I must admit the house and garden need tending too. And I’ve not yet managed to be able to balance both. It’s always one or the other.

I need to remember to pace better to be honest, I still do boom and bust each week.

I keep accidentally pulling and straining the psoas in my sleep. I’ll sneeze (love allergy season Not!) And it will jar the psoas and my goodness it wakes me up with a bolt of pain! Roll on appointment for steroid injection hopefully soon, been waiting since January.

So I have been doing this stretch to try and gently stretch and ease off the pains. *note I don’t hold foot upwards more rest on the floor and gently lend forwards*

Sometimes getting on and off the floor can be an issue, and certainly crunchy knees may not be happy with the above stretch so this one below may suit you better.

Bring one leg up towards your chest and like the other leg dangle, and the weight will naturally stretch that legs psoas muscle.

I am definitely missing Hydro, so maybe it’s worth me looking into aqua aerobics or swimming again, to keep a water element.

I’ve been trying to do the whole normal tidying up chores, and that damn piriformis is still an issue, but grateful hot water bottles can ease it off. Hoovering I still find difficult, but that could be due to my hands more. Will I ever find it easy to bend down? Is this lower back pain forever?

Hope you all enjoy the short week due to the bank holiday and jubilee. I doubt we will do much due to traffic and people, and babysitting duty. Let’s hope the sun shines on us all.
