I’m already starting to get bored of nursing it, but I’m still feeling pain simply sliding the heel to bum in bed, so I know a full hip flexion won’t be pleasant either, so I won’t try it.
Day Three it’s hot hot hot outside but I’m indoors thanks to PMEL (sun allergy) and I’m still nursing my lower back pain with a hot water bottle (not easy in 29degree heat 😂). However I have managed to book a camping getaway for us in July ( I say we, really it’s Mr Moon under my bossing him to do it) I’ve taken 1 tramadol 2 paracetamol by 1.30pm as it’s nagging a bit, probably from me trying to slide heel to bum to be honest. Though some swelling has gone down.

Day Four today we have family to see for father’s Day, so it will be a test of how the leg actually is, as there will be various steps, and different height chairs, travel etc. So it should be a good judge. From today onwards we have some busy ole days, lots of family visits, and packing for a Solstice visit to Glastonbury Monday to Wednesday. So quite a bit of walking around the town too. Leg did well but I certainly felt achy after lower sofas and some hard chairs.
Day Five awful night’s sleep, really throbbed so ended up getting up for coffee and I gave in and took tramadol at 6am to finally sleep until 9am. Definitely didn’t take enough pain relief yesterday, so that is worth keeping in mind. Had a flare of general Ehlers Danlos issues too, so that hasn’t helped to be honest.

But hoping to pack and be ready to go to Glastonbury for the solstice. Often had wanted to go, but we had small children then, and then hips took over for 15years, slowly slowly we are doing all the things we’ve wanted to do over the decades. Grateful that it’s only with hip replacements that I’ve even felt remotely like I’m capable of having mini adventures, they may still cost a few days recovering but it’s worth it. Omg!! Steroid sweats have started! Day five, maybe that means it’s going to start to work now? I forgot about these stupid fiery sweats…
