I think I’ve got to a point where it’s clearly worked as much as it can. And while it’s not painfree, or swelling free I am finding doing some Aerobic step exercises easier than before. So that’s a silver lining.

It’s definitely been frustrating to still be struggling with the most basic of exercises at nearly 1 year post op. But I did know this could be a possibility. As it wasn’t the most straightforward hip to replace.

I still try these as often as I can during the day, while making a drink, or cooking.
If I don’t do the standing version, I like to watch TV and try and do a few of these sat down. Just to strengthen the psoas.

When doing the above exercise though, it’s still pulling, and flaring up. So do I think the steroid was successful, I have to say NO. I have tried resting, I’ve tried stretches, I’ve tried more intense physio and I’ve tried just walking, it all ends the same way, the thigh flares up with pain within a few reps and swells up, and this pain and limitation will then last for 3 to 4 days, and then I do physio again, and the cycle starts again. Honestly feel like I’m hanging my head against a brick wall.

I have to remind myself of this, and it’s only nearly 1yr post op, I know with the other hip it took 18mths to 2yrs to really feel fully healed.
