Hipster

Hippie girl, going through recovery, and life. Follow my journey of Spiritual growth and health.

If you haven’t read my previous posts, I’ve ditched physio for a commitment of 30 days of yoga with Adriene. I’m doing the revolution one. Found on Revolution along with some friends online, we have all committed to doing it and keeping each other supported.

While not geared for a hippie let alone a double hippie, I do my own adaptions and variations that don’t put the implants in any risk of dislocation. It’s been a week since I started and I’ve felt better and stronger in one week than I have in years of physio.

Creating a proper slower form for hip bridges, or superman stretches has meant more muscles engaged, and using breath to enhance the movement. Something I was sorely lacking in, with just once a month appointments and worksheets to do at home. Little hints on how to tuck the tailbone, or lift the navel make such a difference to how a stretch feels.

Just being able to sit upright without stressing the lower back for 30 seconds is a huge win.
Though this is as much as I am crossing my legs safely. I couldn’t physically do it more, nor would I either until speaking to my physiotherapist.
Being able to balance better on one leg, is a huge victory. I just feel more planted than I previously had done.

Doesn’t look amazing but to me it’s giving me more confidence of feeling more stable standing, not as vulnerable. Let’s see how much more progress I can make before I see the hip consultant in September.
