Now technically it’s Halloween 8 we start here with, but it’s a remake of the original so it’s Halloween 1, it’s a Rob Zombie remake and all the characters are recast.

Wasn’t sure I wanted new actors and to restart the plot again, however I was pleasantly surprised, definitely more graphic (something I don’t usually like in modern day horrors) but the actor of young Michael did lure me in, as they were excellent. I did weirdly enjoy, but it’s starting to feel more like modern horrors.

To finish off the Rob Zombie ones it’s Halloween 2 again. Intensely darker and feels more insidious. More modern and not as easy to watch as the earlier ones. While I can see why people prefer these ones, but I don’t. I like them more campy. Hope they don’t continue to be this graphic. Weirdly I enjoyed Rob Zombie’s first one, but this second one I didn’t like at all.

She’s back but this time NOT related to Michael. So weird to rewrite the timeline again, and change the back story. Not ideal rewriting the history, but acting is strong in this one, totally enjoyed it. Good storyline and probably a favourite.

Once again as one ended, this starts, which I enjoy immensely. I love bad ass Laurie, she is amazing. Feels superior in the new modern versions. I loved the children that were babysat in the 1978 one were now adults in this one. Love that extra detail.

So it’s the last one, how will it end? I’ve heard some hated it, and thought it was rubbish. But I’m going in with an open mind. And it was ok…. Not really what I imagined, as Karen and Laurie were such a bad asses in Halloween Kills, to somehow be murdered and neutered in this one! Allyson was annoying, and to centre around Corey was disappointing for an end movie. All said though I’ve enjoyed this marathon except the Rob Zombie 2nd one.
