And in other hip news my first hip replacement has hit it’s 4th birthday, how time flies, it feels both yesterday and eons ago since it was done. Out of the 2 it’s the one that reminds me not to bend over the joint, or cross legs in a certain way. But it is solid, and mostly I forget it’s done. All the muscle, and stem pain this gave me for 2 years are a distant memory. I can’t wait to get to this point with the left hip.

So how is the left hip? Well I’m finally feeling better, and moving more than last week, but I still have some residual weakness doing some movements, ie the most dreaded Single Leg Hip Bridges, though I’m managing a 5 Second Hold and 5 Reps.

Don’t quite feel as strong as I did before Christmas, but I’m sure if I remain consistent and regular it’s bound to build up stamina again.
To help build up the chest and core, I have incorporated some planks, and gently pulling knee to chest.

Mindful how some exercises hurt the hands and wrists, so I rather do little and often. Don’t want to avoid doing them as I do need to strengthen them too.

Some days I do this lying down, other days I like to do on all fours and work the core at the same time. It’s a very good glute activation exercise, which is good as the glutes have been cut through many many times.
