Hipster

It’s been a restful week, following our camping adventures. As the walk we did during being away had really took it out of me, and on top of that the weather was cold and damp, which increased pain levels to sky high!!

Although we were wearing 2 jumpers and coats, hats and gloves. The legs only had 1 pair of trousers on and it got them very very cold, once it sets in its hard to get that cold out of them too. Especially when you are camping in a field.

So it’s 4 days since we’ve got home, and I just about feel ready to do some gentle stretches, and movement. The back feels very siezed up and has done since the following Saturdays walk.

Child pose is always a good stretch, though I have to watch I don’t dislocate the shoulders as they pop out a lot in this position.
Knee to chest, I find it hurts me less if the other leg is bent. This stops the hip flexor swelling and pain.
For piriformis pain I usually do them this way, but with 1 hand it’s a tad harder so I’ve switched to these below instead.
Please GET CLEARED to do these before you attempt them after a hip replacement. But while I struggle to get up and down off the floor they are an excellent alternative.

Next week I have the custom insole fittings, so let’s see how that goes and if it can make a difference to my lower back pain.
