What can I say except WET. Up 4.30am to get ready and set off to get there at 10am, didn’t go to plan at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣 barely slept and it turned out more like 11.20am arrival, but no matter we were on our way!!

We had an extremely wet Friday, and we headed off to warm up and sleep quite early as we hadn’t really slept the night before. Best thing we ever did as I woke up totally refreshed. Coffee and porridge powered us up for the day, everything was so much nicer not being soaking wet.

We visited the Church and this year it was FULL of photoshoots, coats on gravestones, standing on graves, sitting on the stone I find it is disrespectful behaviour, and no not from the Goths as they full know and wouldn’t do it. So this did dampen my spirits a tad. As it got dark and the partial lunar eclipse was upon us we discovered beautiful dressed windows and scary tunnels, and the lit up Abbey (in the Dracula book film)

Headed back to watch films and sleep hopefully as well as before. We had 4 pins from Jasmine and Paul and Vickie’s stall, so Sunday we had different plans. Which honestly went in the bin, when we woke up to an even wetter day. Opting to stay dry indoors we watched Dracula the 3 part BBC show which is on Netflix. Loved it all the more as it’s connections to Whitby. Once it dried over in the afternoon, we once again headed to town, to hunt for Bram Stoker’s bench, pay our respects to Sophie Lancaster’s bench ( see her foundation Here)

Feeling pretty hard to say goodbye to the place, it went from wet to dry and back to wet again (cursed UK weather) but we had a ball and I’m already looking forward to next year.
Treasures we found or bought at Whitby
