As you can imagine it sucks being chronically ill in the first place, your body is already making fight or flight decisions daily, managing a whole heap of tiring and wearing conditions. Now add a simple cold, that just zaps what little energy you had left.

Enter laryngitis, and I feel like my body is lead. Walking through quicksand, and struggling to keep my limbs working. It’s so much more than just inflamed vocal chords. I’m feeling pretty sick on top, and the relentless coughing is pulling the psoas (super painful as you can imagine). When you are chronically ill or in chronic pain your body is already flooded with inflammation, so it overreacts, which makes something so little a massive ordeal.

This isn’t the week I had planned, I wanted to go off on some adventures, get out and enjoy the autumn leaves before they are gone. But as I can’t barely move from bed to sofa, I just have to shut down and read some books instead. And enjoy being snuggled under a blanket with a cappuccino.
