GOODREADS
My Review *TW* it deals with grief and as someone who myself is grieving it can be hard and triggering to read about someone suffering grief and trauma from loss. However, while it did open up some uncomfortable moments and feelings for me, it was expertly done and well written. So now I’ve warned you, let’s get into it. We start with our main character Dove driving home and she sees 3 yes Three!! People fall from a bridge!! Did they fall though, or are they pushed? What an opening of a book, we have a retreat that could be involved due to cards being found with the victims. What really happened? Told mostly from Dove’s point of view, however it sometimes changes but you are well aware of that, and it’s explained well. Which is rare lately as don’t recent books I’ve read have lost me completely when they switch up the point of view midway through a chapter. I’ve read a few of these books in the series, and it’s always an excellent standalone, but obviously if you can read others I highly recommend them, not for story continuity persay, but as they are perfectly crafted story’s you’ll enjoy. And unlike some police stories it includes mundane normal real life into the book, which makes it more believable and relatable.
