Over the weekend we visited a new place to walk, and oh my goodness, it was heavenly.

First up our park up the night before.
Peak district looking glorious in twilight, but it was freezing 🥶

Short drive from where we were camped, we had sandwiches and drinks prepared. Packed most clothing as it’s meant to be a changeable weather day, starts off quite warm and muggy. It soon rains and gets windy, then warm again.

Known for it’s mills and water use to make cutlery and razors apparently
Loads of great wild swimming areas
We had all weathers in one day, and the trees gave us shelter for most of the day
A king on his throne
Copper and iron deposits
Highlight of the day, a baby heron stalking fishes
Teeny froggies

We had good enough weather and seating available, to sit down often and enjoy our surroundings, and our sandwiches. By being slower than most we end up seeing amazing wildlife. Take stock of our mental health by truly feeling in awe of nature, of cleansing waters of each waterfall. It’s truly been a blissful visit, an absolute gem of the Peaks. Ended the day with an incredible sunset back at Stanage Edge. The whole day was magic!!
