This last weekend we had a romantic peaceful calming waterfall walk planned in #hafren forest. We arrived at 10.20am and found parking, although it was proving popular. We made some coffee in the car and I made some dinner (sandwiches) for our walk.

#Hafren boasts the longest boardwalk in Wales, and it’s definitely pretty, along the river, you will come to the boardwalk end to some cascading waterfalls. This area is wholly accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs, and while it’s the longest it’s not too long.

We could follow the path onwards, but alas this is where wheelchairs, and pushchairs have to stop. Though saying this, it’s a perfectly wide pretty flat path, not remotely woodland like.

While we were walking we heard some racing rally cars, we glimpsed the cars every so often, so a quiet woodland walk was not what we had, no relaxing by waterfalls, this noise was loud but oh so exciting!!

We carried on our walk and we happened upon a closed off area. Exactly where the main waterfall is, we asked about it, and we were allowed to go, but it would be closed off due to the rally soon. So off we went to view the waterfall, and eat our lunch late. Absolutely gorgeous. We also then decided to take in the rally, ended up staying there from start of stage 8 to the finish.

What we thought was going to be a serene walk, ended up being so full of excitement, happiness and pure joy! The noise the smell, the driving we saw was pure entertainment and to think we found it by accident and for free!! Best weekend ever. I think I’ve unlocked a new hobby, finding the next rally!!
