I feel like I’ve been on a downer, a Debbie downer if you will. (Seen as my name is Debbie) but the simple truth is, my pain has increased, and hands have been an issue lately.

We’ve gone from a reasonable temperature and dry weather to rain almostly daily and a sudden drop, so I think the body is trying to adjust, as its not just the hands suffering, my back and elbows are terrible too.

I can’t moan too much as I have just had a wonderful holiday, and I’m due to go away again as we always do in October,  for our witchy, pagan, gothic events. Though I did wonder if the increased pain in the march 2024 hand hurt more due to the increased walking stick use? As I often choose a walking pole if out on adventures,  but here I used the walking stick solidly for 5 days. Though moulded handle, it’s still not easy on the hands.

So I’ve been on active rest to help the body adjust, lots of hot water bottles, started to wear my compression gloves again, and I even got out the push brace for the older cmc fusion thumb (one that had surgery march 2023)

This tendon likes to snap and swell up lately, causing issues on the 19months old cmc fusion hand.

I honestly thought i would be done with braces and gloves. But after speaking to the lovely folk on the Facebook groups, maybe it is part the course of healing, and nothing is ever 100% pain-free.
