Hipster

Hippie girl, going through recovery, and life. Follow my journey of Spiritual growth and health.

The run up to Christmas is always made better, with an array of festive treats. And Netflix has some that are new too

But can’t believe i need to add a trigger warning but I do,as a lot seem to have a death in them. (Why, when for grieving people, Christmas is already hard, why make it worse)

Hot Frosty

Widow Kathy magically brings a snowman to life. His innocence helps her heal and find love again. They bond before the holidays, but he’s doomed to melt.

*side note why do most films have a deceased partner or parent?*

The Snow Sister

A young boy named Julian, whose Christmas Eve birthday turns sad with the death of his sister sends his household into mourning and it isn’t until he meets Christmas-loving Hedwig that he begins to believe in Christmas again.

*see what I mean?

That Christmas

It’s an unforgettable Christmas for the townsfolk of Wellington-on-Sea when the worst snowstorm in history alters everyone’s plans, including Santa’s.

*includes a parent death.

Our Little Secret

Two resentful exes must awkwardly spend Christmas together after learning their new partners are siblings.

More lighthearted and needed.

Falling For Christmas

In the days leading up to Christmas, a young and newly engaged heiress experiences a skiing accident. After being diagnosed with amnesia, she finds herself in the care of the handsome lodge owner and his daughter.

*Maybe Linsay is now our new Christmas girl, I do love her silly lighthearted Christmas movies

The Merry Gentleman

To save her parents’ small-town performing venue, a former big-city dancer decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.

*This was so much cringe for me. Not one I’d go back to.

A Nonsense Christmas

Pop icon Sabrina Carpenter jingles all the bells in her first ever variety music special.

Completely different but oh so good, perfect to wrap presents too.

Carry-On

A mysterious traveler blackmails a young TSA agent into letting a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.

I’m really excited for this one. Might save it for Christmas eve viewing.

Bringing Christmas Home

A professor of military history teams up with an antique store owner to help track down the original owner of a historic World War II uniform and the love letters in its pockets.

I like the different plot from royalty and small town. A bit of mystery instead.

Christmas on Windmill Way

Mia Meijer expects that her Oma Ann will win the Christmas Market Fest Dutch Bake-Off competition with her award-winning Kerststol, but her Oma has difficult news to share. Mia’s ex returns and brings problems for the mill.

Cute and lighthearted, like bake off and hallmark movies had a baby.
