I don’t actively follow the traditional New Year resolutions, or even New Year really. It never felt right being in the darkest, most miserable months. Instead I’m more energized in March, after imbolc in Feb.

However that said Adriene does usually put up a new 30days of Yoga up on youtube, this year it’s 7 days of Prana found Here which starts 1st Jan. So we have joined it.
It will then go into the rest of January and its called Energy playlist. While we won’t be doing it exactly every day, I will follow it as closely as I can. I like the routine and something to do in the dark months.

Day 1 went well, though even sitting upright felt so hard on the back, I have to nurse the hip a bit more. Wrists held out really well, as its the first big session after surgery. We both did better than I imagined.

Day 2 we completely failed to do, due to insomnia and for me, I was struck by an occular migraine, which means I can’t see properly, and it knocks me sick and dizzy for hours. So for safety we opted to let this day go, hoping to pick up the next day.

Day 3 insomnia is still getting us, and I have a headache lingering from the previous days migraine. But I manage to do my hip physio, which is quad isolation, hip bridges and baby clams.

But we also did our Prana Day 2 session of yoga. Feels tough on back sitting straight and aches hands, but glad we are getting back into the flow.

Day 4 I caught up on some reading, then physio and even decluttered a drawer (slow and steady to downsize, declutter ready to move). Let muscles and back relax from yoga today.

Day 5 we started strong with batch cooking left over Christmas turkey we had frozen. Turned it into a Red wine casserole, which is lovely. Completed day 3 Prana session, not my favourite as I hate the breathy ones. But it is working well doing it alternate days, allowing my back pain to ease on days off.
