As the previous post states, I came home same day merely an hour ish after theatre had finished, and the block wore off super fast. I had all MCP fusion metalwork removed and my Tendon released.

Sleep is a huge issue at the moment, but it was iffy a few days ahead of surgery too, so I can’t solely blame the op.

No rest for the wicked though as Op Tuesday, we had Dentist Wednesday morning, then Thursday morning I’ve had hip and back physio.  It’s a full time job this chronic illness 🤒

So Surgery Day + First Night

First night was actually pretty good, getting to 10.30pm from tramadol at 5pm was the hardest part. But I slept really well, and took meds again at 1.15am paracetamol mostly for my nerve block shoulder pain, And some CBD balm my friend made. CBD Pain Salve available if you click the link to her shop. I slept upright on the sofa, as it gives a lot of support.

Day One 7.30am for tramadol and etoricoxib to keep pain at bay from hand.  Main point of Day One is adjusting to using my left hand and going to the dentist. I can feel the itchy skin already, in the back of the hand 😫

Today the 26th March actually marks my 1yr anniversary of having this hand done originally, the mcp fusion and cmc replacement.  Seems funny to have had it operated on again so close to the anniversary. Going to celebrate the day with a lovely day of reading. 12.30 midday I took another Tramadol. Hoping it will ease the crushing pain for now. Took paracetamol at 4.40pm, then at 6.30pm Tramadol. Mostly just feeling exhausted, and dull aches, tender in places. Hoping to try my bed tonight. Pain seems to get worse at night, had Dihydrocodine at 10.30pm,Paracetamol at 1.30am.

Day Two its up early for physio ( micats for my hips and back) So Tramadol and Etoricoxib at 6.30am. Sleep wasn’t as easy this night, and pain was worse around the back of hand and wrist. But I did make it to bed to sleep kinda. Today’s a new day. Time to get ready for Physio.

Going to ask my Physiotherapist if there are any hip and back exercises I can do standing up, to save attempting to get on and off the floor while my hand heals. Got some great new exercises, and instructions to only do as and when I feel able, while hand is recovering. Feeling easily exhausted today, especially after being at physio. So resting and reading the rest of the day 12midday I took 0.15ml thc /cbd oil. At 3.15pm I took a Tramadol and promptly fell asleep, must of needed that. I forgot how much surgery takes out of you energy wise. I took 0.15ml thc/cbd oil at 10pm and at 10.15pm the Dihydrocodine.
