I never really explained what the tendon release was, so here is a quick synopsis.
Extensor tenolysis is a surgical procedure that involves releasing the tendons of the extensor muscles in the hand and wrist. This procedure is typically performed to treat conditions such as tendon adhesions, scar tissue, or other obstructions that can limit the range of motion in the hand and wrist. During the procedure, the surgeon will make a small incision in the affected area and carefully separate the tendons from any surrounding tissue or adhesions. Once the tendons are freed, the surgeon will reposition them in their proper location and close the incision. Following the procedure, patients will typically need to undergo physical therapy to help regain strength and range of motion in the hand and wrist. Overall, extensor tenolysis is a safe and effective procedure that can help improve hand function and quality of life for patients suffering from certain hand and wrist conditions.

Day 3 Woke up a few times at night but I didn’t take any meds until 8.50pm Tramadol. Meaning I’d gone from 10pm to nearly 9am woohoo. I also didn’t wear the sling overnight with ice. So feeling more normal.
Think some colour and swelling has started which is the exact time frame of last year, so that’s reassuring.

Had some thc/cbd oil 0.15ml at 12.15pm and got ready to go out. We managed to get outside to enjoy nature and wildlife, while it did exhaust me, it felt good to get fresh air. Tramadol at 4 .30pm. Hopefully I’ll sleep more solidly tonight after being out for a few hours. Took my Dihydrocodine at 11pm.

Bloody sleep would be nice. Pain dramatically increased in the night, Elbow is really painful (tennis elbow) and bandage feeling heavy and tight in places. Slept well tried too, with ice and sling. See last year’s post I might ask for advice on elbow on Monday when I see them for a wound check.
Day 4 Feeling like a zombie, but we plod on. Tramadol, Etoricoxib at 7am. Opposite hand is hurting a lot as its not used to the extra strain of being the main hand, so I’m thinking to keep more meds going today and pain balm, possibly even a compression glove too. I think today has been my genuine WORSE pain day. And it’s only 10.30am, not due any meds until 11am earliest. Took a Dihydrocodine to get me through the day at 11am. Also getting a lot of red face flushing, so I need to take antihistamines to help control it.

Took Tramadol at 5pm, and saw some family, and stayed out until 11pm when I got into bed and took bedtime Dihydrocodine at 11pm. Been a good day considering the pain levels last night and the morning.
Soon be Monday and time to see the thumb in the flesh, wonder what splint I will get? Soft, therma splint, or half hard cast? Wonder if stitches need removing or will they leave them.
