195 Weeks Post #HipReplacement

|

We had an amazing time away in Glastonbury last week, but I’ve picked up a knee injury, simply from walking. Perhaps as I lean into the walking stick as I waddle once hips and back are tired.

So this has hampered this week, needing to rest it as much as possible, try and cater my physio exercises around it.

Added some knee strengthening exercises, such as Heel Slides, Bum kicks, Side leg Raises, and Short Arc Leg Raises.

Even Quad Clenches where you clench quads tight and push knees into the ground (straight legged) and pull toes up towards you, is a great knee exercise. I remember these from when I first had my hip replacement, most of these exercises actually.

Need to try and sort out my wrist, forearm which is also really swollen from using my walking stick.

My right knee is swollen, the inner side is where it’s tender and likes to give way when I walk.

I also have to watch messing something new up because I’m compensating for some other issue. It looks like you’ve got a good set of exercises to fix your knee back up 🙂

Its a fine balance isn’t it, strengthen one thing and knock another thing off
