Its been 11 weeks now since the metal removal and tendon release, and time to see the consultant.

All is good except the released tendon, which i don’t think worked at all, as the tip of the thumb barely flexes at all.

This is as much as it will bend

No xrays done, instead it was a demonstration of how little it flexes, and the explanation that the fusion is making it harder to move, but at least it’s pain free and it works for day to day living.

Explained I can use my walking stick good enough with that hand too. So now I’m signed off for a year. As it’s an implant, I can’t be truly signed off, as they need to keep an eye on it, and if any other areas start to hurt to go back. As apparently that arthritis has a tendency to spread elsewhere.
