Since I’ve been doing my new physio exercises regular, and every other day, I’ve learnt of the importance of rest days. I honestly didn’t think 1 day would be enough, as traditionally I would do double the amount of reps, and then need 2 or 3 days to recover.
But I found from doing that, I never truly felt any progression, or improvements. So this has been a mental challenge to do far less than I ever would only 5 or 10 reps. And then have a whole day off the next day. But I have to say I’m feeling better for it.

On my rest days I’ve been reading books, watching Bridgerton (which is amazing! And Sanditon) or pottering around the house, as I’m not doing so many reps, it’s been easier to not feel as broken, and therefore more useful around the house. The biggest challenge is to not do more than 10 reps when I feel I totally can do. The urge is huge! But now I’m seeing and feeling results, it urge is lessening.

The paperwork says to do 2 sets of 10 reps but I am not at that level yet. So I’m doing the 1 set alternate days and once this feels comfortable and doesn’t flare up the psoas at the end of each session, I will increase. However only from 10 reps to 15 reps at first. And so on, until I get to do the 2 sets every other day. This time I’m taking it super slow and steady.
