Yippee I have a surgery date, for my left thumb CMC joint. It’s all going ahead on the 28th February.
I’ve got myself a shampoo bar so it’s easier to do my hair, got myself a good one for curly hair as I won’t be straightening my hair any time soon.

I’ve tried to return to Micats (musculoskeletal unit) to have a steroid injection into the right hand in the meantime, as surgeon said I was allowed. But the referral I had has ran out, so I need to contact GPs and request one again, and wait for that to go through. So sadly that won’t happen before surgery now.
We’ve already begun to batch cook, so we can just heat the meals up, so that should help Mr Moon while I’m out of action. They are also easy meals to eat with one hand too, so we did pasta sauce and mince, to go with shape pasta rather than spaghetti. And we’ve made some chilli con carne to go with rice.

I’ve bought some ice packs as I see from others that it’s hugely important to ice the arm, and fingers as best you can.

I’ve got the yellow massage ball to help roll into my problematic vastus intermedius muscle, but also good for the right hand to squeeze, and use as rehab.

I’ve got this wedge pillow, that’s yes for between the knees, but I’ve got it to help rest the arm onto while I’m recovering.
Definitely more scared of doing this than any hip surgery, but needs must, I’m looking to the future with pain free hands.
