It’s dragging I won’t lie, and occasionally (at least once a day!) claustrophobia clings to me, I can feel that my skin is so dry, it’s catching on the inside. I’m just wanting to wet the hand so bad, and put moisturizer on 😔 but 1 more week!! Then it’s kinda free??

While this prospect is exciting, I’m also very nervous. What position will the thumb be in, compared to pre op? Am I likely to keep catching it? Knocking it and hurting myself as it’s in a new position? Will I ever be happy putting my hand down flat? Or is yoga forever changed?
Also note to self, don’t get cocky and miss a pain relief dose! It bites you on the ass eventually 🤦🏻♀️ definitely thought I’d cracked it, but a stinging ache did return after 30 hours. So not quite ready to ditch them all.
And definitely don’t trip over and bend your fingers back a bit, as that caused instant swelling and increased pain 🤦🏻♀️ twice this week I’ve been cocky, and it’s hit me hard in the backside!!
Talking of sore hands, the right unoperated hand is still sore where the cannulas were, I had 2 due to 1 being constantly sore as antibiotics and meds were pushed through. That vein is still super tender when flexing hand and wrist, as well as when I touch the vein.

I’ve so badly wanted to go out walking, get some fresh air, and see some gorgeous views. But the rain has been torrential. And as this ridiculous cast won’t fit through any of my coats 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I would most definitely get wet, so I’ve been too scared.
