It’s packing for Camping week, and considering I’m still in a splint, I was feeling pretty strong, and it moves well. But then Sunday I had an accident 😭 I sat on the floor it was uneven underneath me, which pitched me forward and I instinctively put my hand down!! 😲 OUCH, Shocked, Jarred and Sore. Thankfully not as bad as it could have been considering the weight that went through it. Wrist hurt the most, thumb felt fine thankfully. That being said I’m also glad of the splint to also give it that element of ‘protection’ which I clearly need.

Before my accident I had been doing Wrist exercises. As my wrist is the weakest point, so I make time each day to stretch it, and hold in a position for 30seconds. So far if I’m pushing off anything, I’m using my knuckles rather than flexing the wrist that much. But now I’m just keeping it still and icing.

Still doing my finger tendon glides as well as mastering touching the fingers with the thumb. I’m just about getting to the third finger. The hardest exercise is extending and abducting the thumb, but of course we do it little and often.

Started to try out, some pinch holds, pushing, and holding various items. Strength is really good. Zips are still hard, and phone chargers, Buttons too. But it’s a start.

Hoping it will be ok camping Friday to Monday, it will put it more to a test than anything. If it aches too much I will sling it at times to give it some elevation.
