This last week I’ve really put the hands to the test, we managed to get away and as everyone knows, camping is hardwork. A lot of pulling yourself up off low seating, and from beds. So the hands have been used a great deal.

First the Steroid injection right hand, it’s now 4 weeks since the injection and it’s 85 % painfree. I’m so pleased, I am now going to time it, see how long it lasts for.

Still no x-ray or appointment that I can attend (they keep choosing the one date I’m away for as it’s the Summer Solstice) so it’s now 3 weeks overdue, and according to the hospital it may be another 10 weeks until an appointment is available. Bloody good job I’m feeling ok and doing my own physio, as that’s ridiculous!! 25weeks post op I’d be.

Pinky finger touching is getting there. But it aches like hell afterwards, but I do try to do at least 10reps a day.

As it’s been warm weather, the splint is far to sweaty to wear, so I’ve had to go without at times. Which is scary to he honest, but perhaps it’s for the best and will get the hand back to a better range quicker.

I can’t believe that you’ll have to wait another 10 weeks for the appointment! That’s ridiculous! It’s just as well that you’ve taken to doing the physio yourself x

I know right, I don’t even know if the bone has started to heal yet or not, as it hadn’t by 6 weeks like most do
