Hipster

Hippie girl, going through recovery, and life. Follow my journey of Spiritual growth and health.

It had been feeling like spoopy spooky season weatherwise and with my home decor, so following on from the first post Here, we have found more films to watch, that are spooky, scary, horror, supernatural or thriller vibes.

MONA LISA AND THE BLOOD MOON

When a struggling single mother befriends a mysterious woman who has supernatural powers, she sees a lucrative opportunity to make some fast cash. However, their crime spree soon draws unwanted attention as the cops start to close in.

Had never heard of it, and what a gem it was!! Really enjoyed this film.

WARLOCK

Horror tale of a 17th century warlock who is transported into contemporary Los Angeles. He tries to reunite portions of a Devil’s Book that can destroy mankind, and a witch hunter is out to stop him.

Perfect retro film to watch on a lazy weekend. I really loved this, can’t believe I’ve never seen it before.

COVEN

Five undergrad witches come together in order to perform a ritual to invoke the ancient powers of the witch Ashura. The leader of the coven gets carried away and accidentally kills one of the witches during the ritual. She needs the strength of a complete coven to invoke Ashura’s powers and sends them out to find a final witch. As she absorbs power the surviving girls’ plot to take her down but the possessed witch unleashes hell on campus with only one young witch left to stop her.

Honestly it’s pretty terrible, and a rip off of The Craft. But we watched it all, was entertained, however daft and wooden it seemed.

THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER

Based on a single chapter, the Captain’s Log, from Bram Stoker’s classic 1897 novel “Dracula”, the story is set aboard the Russian schooner Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo – 24 unmarked wooden crates – from Carpathia to London. The film will detail the strange events that befell the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a terrifying presence on board the ship. When it finally arrived near Whitby Harbour, it was derelict. There was no trace of the crew.

As a Whitby lover, (we will be there again in October for the Whitby Goth Weekend) I absolutely LOVED this bit of classic literature being made into a modern film, while losing no magic and mystery. Highly recommended for Dracula fans.

It’s not quite a horror movie but an anthology, but In the Company of Wolves is really good too . Very dark fairytale aesthetic. Also I like the Wolfen too , it’s more of a supernatural mystery though. I used to be huge into werewolf movies when i was younger .

we use a firestick for ours, you just use a program called downloader form the amazon store and then just youtube it as there are many videos on there about how to use it and install Bee tv etc. Firesticks are also fairly cheap on Amazon at the moment or just keep an eye on them.
I would also recommend surfshark VPN as well, it was about £48 for 2 years on unlimited devices and it guarantees to unblock US netflix, prime, disney etc, i use torrents a lot and they think im connected in Queens New York
