Autumnal Equinox

|

,

It’s here already! Can you believe how fast the year is going. So what is the autumn equinox? It’s the second point of the year where the day and night are equal lengths. A time of balance in the world, until it tips to the favour of the coming dark month and the dying down of nature. We’ve had our boom, now it’s bust and the second harvest of the year, to gather all you need for the cold dark months ahead.

I had hoped to get out and about but weather isn’t playing ball, and I’m not feeling my best. So a good hearty stew made at home, and snuggled up to watch movies. As you don’t have to do grand rituals to observe and celebrate. And I caught the beautiful golden rays of the sunrise on the 23rd.

For incense I had a nice spiced apple and black cherry wax melts burning. This always makes the home feel cosy and warm.

Here is a good tarot spread to try.

When we get out to have a walk in nature, I will add that as a later celebration and look out for conkers, pine cones, and leaves to collect as treasure.

No one needs big glamorous rituals, sometimes the “magic”gets lost,as a Druid who has attended and was part of an OBOD grove, their rituals are too long winded and the feeling gets lost.
I have a Samhain ritual that I created that takes 5 minutes and involves a t light,an incense stick and a few photos of loved ones no longer here.
You just take it easy and watch the Changeling lol

Thanks for teaching me some new slang. Although conkers, for horse chestnut seeds or the game played with them, seems to be of British origin, apparently we use it in the states also as there is an American Conkers championship. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conkers
