Now you may be thinking a romantic day, but long time readers will know I’ve been waiting for a date for surgery. And it’s now come through. It’s for 26th March, so I’m on a countdown. I’m so pleased, probably not a normal response but it’s so needed. That’s not to say I’m not scared too. Because I am terrified, but it’s needed 💖

I have the pillow from last surgery, and ice packs so I don’t have much to buy really. Probably just some new slippers needed, and maybe pjs as everyone loves new pjs, and socks.

I’ve got 2 ice packs, so you can use one, while one is freezing. Best investment ever as these are so needed.
This is actually a hip replacement pillow, between the knees, but I found it perfect for the arm to be elevated in this snug channeled pillow. Well used and loved.

If you are new to hospital check lists, or wondering what to take, here I have found a good basic one. As this surgery is technically a day case I don’t need much, but you do have to take nightwear, slippers and dressing gown just in case. (They ask you too)

Always a good idea too plan your actually hospital outfit too, easy to wear leggings, or sweatpants. Slip on shoes or trainers (mine are zip ones thankfully) and t shirt or top with a big enough arm hole for the bandage!! And a cardigan, as hoodies won’t go over the bandage. So that’s my plan.

I listened to podcasts before, and I aim to do it again, so pack headphones and chargers and phone.

I do, hit nervous as the surgery is more complex and I’m having 2 surgeons, but they are amazing surgeons so I’m lucky. Best get practicing doing make up with left hand 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah it’s terrible . I have friends too that really have to keep bugging their doctors for important operations. It doesn’t help that in the states alot of doctors move away or retire.

We are actually having the same issue of retiring, as most are men in their 60s now and move into private or straight up retire x

I’ve had two lady doctor just leave to other states , and another just retire . So anytime I make a new appointment I usually have to get a totally new doctor .
