Hipster

Hippie girl, going through recovery, and life. Follow my journey of Spiritual growth and health.

This last week we did Glastonbury Tor, camping and general walking around. I even managed to use my walking stick in my usual hand (although admittedly not meant due,as it’s still healing, it’s 13 weeks post op)

Psoas of the left hip is still feeling absolutely fabulous, I’m really enjoying this hip.

We took everything slow, steady and maximum pain relief too. I’ve recently been finding the older hip (2019 Jan)  is the sore one. Sometimes it can be horrendous to begin with but ease off. But this time it just got progressively worse, more painful, more swollen and by 4 days away, each step just felt like daggers in the hip (outer area, along with outer knee twinging too)

I know it’s due to being quite flat footed, and more importantly the leg length discrepancy. It’s probably the Trochanteric bursa giving me some issues, so I’m going to have to target train that out with some exercises. How to work out if this is what affects you Here

Piriformis stretch is good hold 20 seconds X 5reps
Clamshell exercises X 10reps
Side leg raises X 10reps

Keeping reps low for now, until flare up has settled. Using ibuprofen gel, heat pads and rest to settle the worst of it. Also started to use the massage gun too, now it’s not as tender to the touch. Last walking day was Saturday, been home since then, taken each day slowly and rested as much as I can. It’s now nearly a week, and pain is starting to subside. Though the lower back is just as bad as it was a week ago 😭

The price we pay for holiday away, and activities.

I hope it is the trochanteric bursitis or something else treatable and the exercises help, so you can enjoy activities at less of a price 🙂
