Hippie girl, going through recovery, and life. Follow my journey of Spiritual growth and health.

With recent health upsets, I’ve had to change some daily things, like ditching caffeine. And if you know me you’ll know my whole identity is being a huge coffee fiend.

So this has broken my heart, literally 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve gone from drinking coffee all day every day, even late at night and being able to sleep immediately, to now I can’t tolerate 1 coffee in the morning, as i feel jittery and fast heart rate all day.

No matter how good the strainer, I always get bits 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ However this combination of Lemon Verbena, Nettle and Chamomile is amazingly calming for the heart, and delicious to drink.

To ditch sugar out of our porridge, we’ve opted for a smoothie mix which us frozen from Aldi, strawberry and banana, defrost bits over night, chop up small and add to hot porridge each morning. This has been delicious and I would never go back to sugar now.

Most evenings we are eating soups as these are manageable and easy to eat, taking out white carbs, no longer having bread with soup too. In case gluten is also a problem for us.

Over time, once we work through foods we have in already, we will work more towards a more alkaline diet.

I had to give up caffeine too so I know what that is like. I observed a moment of silence for your loss (:

I like Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice, it is an herbal tea that tastes more coffee-like if you brew it strong. Good luck on your dietary changes!
