Hipster

Hippie girl, going through recovery, and life. Follow my journey of Spiritual growth and health.

Its Spine gym once more, and honestly I’ve barely recovered from the last session!! It takes until Saturday to feel marginally better, and then it’s back again on Monday.

Which is causing issues for other physio exercises I’m meant to be doing. Though I only have this week and one more left, so I’m focusing on this for now.

Completely different exercises this week, same as week 2 (which I missed, so new to me)

First up Romanian Deadlifts

15 reps x 2 11kg with bar

I find these really hard on the back, but hopefully it strengthens up.

Then Hip Abduction

15 reps x 2 Red resistance band.

Always hate these, mostly due to the unevenness of my legs, makes it harder one side.

Onto Seated Rotations with weight

15 reps X 2 holding 4kg weight

This was super hard, really ached my back. Thinking about it the weight was too heavy really, but I managed it at least. (Going to really feel it the next few days)

Gentle Cat/Camel Stretches

15 reps X 2

A nice gentle one, much needed after the seated rotations. A good one to practice breathing correctly too.

Now Squat with 8kg Kettle Bell

15 reps X 2 8kg kettle bell

To make this easier for my back and to even out the squat, so it’s not squiffy. The physiotherapist put a strip of insole foam under one foot. It really did help.

Last exercise Side Flexion  with 3kg dumbell

15 reps X 2 with 3kg dumbell

Once again standing on my new Insole foam to make standing more even. We bend to the side, pull up muscles and slowly lift up, while holding a 3kg weight.

Walked out feeling extremely worn out, and exhausted. This is going to hurt for a few days for sure. I did give it everything I had.

Hey there, interesting blog. If I’m doing the math correctly, you had your hip replacement about 4 years ago…I wasn’t able to easily navigate to the beginning of your story, but that predates my THR by 1-2 years, so you probably haven’t seen my Hip Vlog, have you?

With over a million hip replacements done every year, I’m trying to reach and help as many of these folks as possible by sharing what I learned and experienced. Any chance you’d help me spread the word?

If you’re unfamiliar with my Hip Vlog, this 90s video is a good introduction.

    Best, Pete
