For the few days I’ve been nursing an injury. Yes, another one!! This time I was walking and completely went over my ankle (not helped by my insoles in trainers, as the heel never really sits into the heel area, as the insole lifts it so much) Curse this leg length.

Straight to A+E as I knew it was wrong, the instant swelling, and 10 out of 10 pain  I got. I fell outside and was lying on the floor for a while. I managed with help to get into the car and get seen at the hospital. There was and is no way I can put my weight through the foot. Though I didn’t hear or feel a crack, so I wasn’t thinking broken, but when I tried to lift my leg, my foot dropped, I couldn’t hold my foot up, so I thought maybe dislocation? Bad sprain?

Thankfully the wait wasn’t too long, and tramadol helped keep pain at bay, sat in a wheelchair, I got x-rayed and thankfully not broken. Very sprained and with my ehlers danlos, they say I must not let my foot drop. So its splinted and I need to elevate. Yet move at times to prevent delayed healing.

This has kiboshed my physio for my back, Moving house, and worse going to Whitby Goth Weekend. (I’m devastated)

But I don’t want to risk good healing, so I will take it slowly and do what they tell me to do.

The next day (Saturday) it was like this, so lots of resting and elevation.

Day 3 (Monday) of injury, and our moving day too.
Also Day 3 (Monday) , showing bruise on both sides of ankle

Owee! I sympathize more with ankle sprains more than anything because I’ve sprained my right ankle 7 times in my life. It’s obviously overly floppy so I have to wear an ankle brace or high tops when hiking. I hope yours heals fast 🙂

Thank you. I’ve sprained it many times before, but nothing like this, definitely my worse injury ever. Just hoping it heals well
