I love buildings and finding new places to look at. And what better way than with a treasure trail map. As they make you look at points of interest in a interesting and exciting way.

The town of Lichfield is buzzing with excitement after the discovery of a long-lost diary belonging to the legendary Shakespearean actor, David Garrick. In it, he reveals a shocking secret-The Bard wrote alternative plots for many of his famous plays, hidden away as insurance against political and religious turmoil. But now, the manuscripts are missing, and it’s up to YOU to track them down!

Each clue we solved gave us a new location and one to cross off our map.

It was lovely to discover old ruins of times gone by.

And even appreciate newer sculptures and find out their meanings.

Walking around pools and lakes in glorious sunshine.

Every plaque could be a clue to solve our mystery.

Had to take in the gothic beauty of Lichfield Cathedral

Stunning brick work, attention to detail than new buildings just never have anymore.

More scenic walks around this town full of history.

Hidden gems of architecture and beauty everywhere.

We find an old hospital which is now elderly care residential living.

Ended up in a wonderful pub, a nice cold IPA was needed and a sit down.

We even had entertainment with this lovely lady singing. Brilliant day and awesome way to really see some towns and villages. Highly recommend. Available here
