I was bought this book for Mother’s Day, and I read it in one sitting so I thought I’d do a review of it, seen as I LOVED it so much. I will add a *Trigger Warning* as the book has sexual assault explained.

Named one of the TIME100 Most Influential People of 2026
“I enjoy Freida McFadden…The books are engrossing and her sense of humour is sharp and dark. Vengeance comes with a twist and is satisfying” – STEPHEN KING
“McFadden is a writer at the top of her game―and the undisputed mistress of the psychological thriller.” – E.L. James
“Take the propulsive darkness of Gone Girl, the prolific output of Colleen Hoover, and the addictive twists of Harlan Coben, and you have something close to Freida McFadden.” – The Independent
“Intimidatingly prolific” – The Sunday Times
From #1 Sunday Times and international bestselling author Freida McFadden comes a biting, subversive thriller about what happens when women finally choose to take justice into their own hands – with killer results.

Sometimes, enough is enough…
Debbie Mullen is losing it. For years, she has compiled all her best advice into her column, Dear Debbie, where the wives of New England come for sympathy and neighbourly advice. Through her work, Debbie has heard from countless women who are ignored, belittled, or even abused by their husbands. And Debbie does her best to guide them in the right direction.
Or at least, she did.
These days, Debbie’s life seems to be spiralling out of control. She just lost her job. Something strange is happening with her teenage daughters. And her husband is keeping secrets, according to the tracking app she installed on his phone. Now, Debbie’s done being the bigger person. She’s done being reasonable and practical. It’s time to take her own advice.
And now it’s time for payback against all the people in her life who deserve it the most.

My Review As stated above I fully read this in one sitting. So rare is it that a book grabs me and holds me for that long. I was enthralled and so intrigued and it was an instant hook. Probably because I’m in the menopause phase myself and at times you just feel fed up of putting people before yourself, and almost snap! Just like Debbie. And like Debbie I am too a Debbie. It was so fitting!!
When teenagers grow up you do become obsolete to them in many ways, everything you do annoys them or makes them cringe. I have 4 daughters so I understood this feeling well. The characters are literally most families and that is the magic of this book. Its relatable and believable and you will feel so much empathy for all the family members, as they deal with their secrets and their shame around them. Absolutely LOVED it and I will be reading more from Freida McFadden.
