As ever year I totally started my Halloween viewing with Halloween Town 4 films and Hocus Pocus 2 films. Because these are necessary. And of course Practical Magic 1.

Practical Magic 2 A multi generational family of witches, cursed to be loveless for centuries, attempts to break the spell by confronting dark secrets and sacrificing for each other.

As a lover of the first, I had HAD to watch number 2. While I acknowledge it has a mix bag of reviews, for me I loved it. Trigger warning we have grief in this more than film 1. But on the magic side it was more authentic witchcraft and folklore and the soundtrack was perfectly fitting. A must watch.

American Horror Story 13 American Horror Story: 13 is a massive crossover season that unites iconic characters from across the franchise to face a dark force tied to the superstitions and chaos of the number 13.

So far I’m loving it, which is great as the last few I hadn’t and ditched it all together. This one lured me in with the witches of course!!

The Whisper Man A grieving father and his young son relocate to the quiet town of Garretton, which was terrorized by a serial killer known as The Whisper Man 15 years earlier, while rumors circulate that Whisper Man worked with an accomplice.

Slow burn, dark and gritty it’s a hit with me. Serial killer, game of cat and mouse and broken families.

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story … Trapped in a cruel Victorian-era household, Lizzie Borden kills her parents in a gory ax murder that shocks the nation.

Mixed reviews again due to the LGBTQ+ theme. However for me it added to a beautiful story and for once you really feel for the murderer. Beautifully made, the casting was elite.

Gilmore Girls The mother-daughter duo of Lorelai and Rory bond over everything they do and are essentially inseparable. Their lives depend on each other for the most part and to some extent on their close friends.

I know this isn’t spooky, but its a cosy autumnal show, and can you believe it’s the first time I’ve ever watched it. So far on series 4 and we watch it every tea time.
