We had a little getaway in the peaks and I swear we had ALL seasons in 2 days.

Blue skies but bitterly cold wind made us need gloves and hats and buffs.

Peak district famous Gritstone these stones were made into wheels for mills.

Lower down it got less windy and a bit warmer, nicer to be out in.

Local residents we came across.

The glorious oranges look amazing in the golden hour near sunset times.

Ended in the twilight the first day. Beautiful scenery and felt blessed by the weather.
Next day was a different story though.

Super cloudy but it had its own charm and wonder at first.

The rain started and it was only a little bit at first.

Waterfall and rivers loved the extra water from the skies. It got heavier and heavier and we were drenched. Upper body especially as it had soaked through our coats, we got hail as well which stung our faces and my fingers were dropping off. It was so cold!!

Same bridge as day before, what a different in weather and how we felt too. We cut our time out short as it was getting unbearable and my legs felt so numb I could barely move.

Even in gloomy weather it still looks pretty. But I’m glad to be home with a good book and coffee warming up.
