Its nearly Samhain (All Hallows Eve) so our hearts and minds turn towards the ancestors. Everyone who came before you and paved the way for your life.

What better place to do this, than in a sacred stone circle. Alas this one became famous this last summer solstice when someone was brutally murdered here. So we offered our thoughts and prayers for the young man and his family.

We left a protection rune made of fallen twigs as an offerings. Some will do clooties in trees (ribbons in trees) but I prefer a more natural approach, so offerings of a nice stone, feather, pinecone, twigs etc.

Its a perfect time to lay that extra seat at the table, leave the food offerings outside. Or light a candle with their photograph and guide their spirit home while the veil is at its thinnest.
